Municipality Woensdrecht
The municipality of Woensdrecht (over 21,000 inhabitants) is situated in
an area that forms a connection between the large-scale nature conservation areas
of Wouwse Plantage and Kalmthoutse Heide. Highly exceptional in this south-western
part of West Brabant is the presence of the splendid Brabantse Wal.
The municipality of Woensdrecht comprises of Woensdrecht, Hoogerheide,
Ossendrecht, Huijbergen and the border village of Putte. The recreational
function is an important factor but there is also the Kooi industrial estate in
Hoogerheide (a short distance from the A58 and A4 motorways). This is an
industrial area situated in the countryside and is the home base for a part of
the Dutch air force and various companies including Fokker Services, Stork
Fokker Elmo and M.Y. Cartons-Hoogerheide
