Municipality Werkendam
The
municipality of Werkendam is situated in the north-eastern part of West Brabant,
a relatively short distance away from the A27 motorway (Utrecht-Breda) and the
bridge at Gorinchem. This rural municipality has a total of almost 26,000
inhabitants. Werkendam forms an excellent base of operations for exploring the
South Holland Biesbosch. Consequently the municipality has an important tourist
recreational function. But Werkendam has more to offer. Werkendam has several
business parks for local activity and these benefit from their favourable
location on the river Merwede.
For now, the possibilities for establishing a business on the business parks in/near Werkendam are restricted to local activities. However, once the newly to be developed business estate for the "Land van Heusden en Altena" area (made up by the three municipalities of Aalburg, Woudrichem and Werkendam) has been completed, this part of the region will also be able to welcome new companies from outside the region.
