Municipality Steenbergen
The municipality of Steenbergen is situated to the north of
Bergen op Zoom. To the west the municipality borders the Schelde-Rijn canal. The
river Steenbergse Vliet gives Steenbergen just that little bit extra,
distinguishing it from the other places in the region. Steenbergen has more than
23,000 inhabitants, including many commuters who traditionally work in the
southern Randstad. Bac Color is an important employer in Steenbergen. Also
the various companies on the Reinierpolder business park, including recent
newcomers such as Koopmans, have an important regional and local employment
function.
