Municipality Moerdijk
The municipality of Moerdijk (over 36,000 inhabitants)
comprises Willemstad, Fijnaart, Standdaarbuiten, Zevenbergen and Moerdijk. With
a surface area of 18,000 ha. Moerdijk is the largest municipality in the
province of North Brabant. Situated in the north west of the West Brabant
region, it combines the tourist recreational function of the historic fortified
town of Willemstad with the activities of the large-scale Moerdijk industrial
estate.
| The large-scale Moerdijk industrial estate (total gross
2,600 ha!) is situated on the Hollands Diep. It comprises Seaport
Moerdijk, among other things, which is accessible to ocean-going vessels
and has a daily shuttle connection over the water to the port of
Rotterdam. Various large companies such as Shell, Tetrapak, Montell,
CNC, Heye Glass and Bridgestone Firestone have found an excellent location
here. Readily accessible by road (A16/A27), via a deep waterway, and by
rail. The municipality of Moerdijk also has smaller business parks such
as Koekoek and Zwanegat (in Zevenbergen). Here, too, there are
excellent options for establishing a business. |
